Most of my work sits in the decade before retirement. The decisions you make in that window shape what life looks like after work, so I take them seriously and explain the trade-offs in plain English.

You pay me directly, not the products I recommend. The first two meetings are free, and if your situation doesn't need ongoing advice, I'll tell you that on the first call.

Where is your office if I live in Daisy Hill?

Our office is Shop 1/50 Chatswood Rd, Springwood QLD 4127. Daisy Hill clients usually meet us there, with phone and video meetings available when that is easier.

What suburbs outside Daisy Hill do you cover?

We work right across south east Queensland: Springwood, Shailer Park, Rochedale South, Underwood, Slacks Creek, Loganholme, Cornubia, Meadowbrook, Eight Mile Plains, and Rochedale, plus the broader Brisbane southside and the Gold Coast. Most clients come to the Springwood office, but video meetings are available if that's easier for you.

What happens at the first meeting?

It's a conversation, not a sales pitch. You tell us where you're at financially, what retirement looks like in your head, what worries you. We listen, ask questions, and either suggest a way we can help (with a written fee you agree before any work starts) or we tell you honestly that you don't need a full plan right now. The meeting is free and takes 60 to 90 minutes. No obligation to continue.

How much does financial advice cost?

A retirement plan is typically $3,500 to $6,500 one-off. Ongoing advice services are either 0.5% to 1.0% of managed assets per year or a fixed annual fee. Simple one-off advice (super review, Age Pension application) is cheaper. Everything is quoted in writing before any work starts. If the numbers don't stack up for you, you walk away at no cost. See our full fee breakdown for detail.

Do I need a lot of super to work with you?

No. We work with people across a range of balances. What matters more than your super number is whether you've got real questions about retirement and want a proper plan. If your situation is very simple (small super, full pension, no investment properties), we'll tell you honestly that MoneySmart and Services Australia can probably answer your questions and you don't need us. If there's any complexity, advice usually pays for itself.

How are you licensed, and what products can you consider?

Great Advice is an Authorised Representative of Akumin Financial Planning Pty Ltd, AFSL 232706. We are fee-based, do not receive commissions on super or investment advice, and can consider products from the approved product list where they suit the advice. You receive the scope and fee in writing before proceeding.

Can I meet by phone or video if I am in Daisy Hill?

Yes. Most Daisy Hill clients either come to the Springwood office or meet by video. If travel is difficult, call first and we can talk through the practical options.

How often will we meet after the first year?

If you choose ongoing advice, we schedule at least one formal review each year and meet sooner when something changes, such as retirement, inheritance, aged care, health, or major Centrelink changes.

When you're ready

Let's look at this properly.

Two free meetings, no pressure, a quoted fee in writing before anything else happens.
