About Great Advice
Who we are.
The questions people ask first. If yours isn't here, the first meeting is the right place for it.
Book a first meetingWho is Great Advice and how are you licensed?
Great Advice is the trading name of Aetos Wealth Advisors Pty Ltd, a boutique financial advice practice based at Shop 1/50 Chatswood Rd, Springwood QLD 4127. We're an Authorised Representative of Akumin Financial Planning Pty Ltd, which holds AFSL 232706. Principal adviser George Iacovou has 16-plus years' experience, and you can check our standing on the ASIC Financial Advisers Register before we meet.
What does fee-based financial advice mean at Great Advice?
Fee-based means you pay an agreed fee for the advice itself, set out before any work starts, rather than us being paid by product commissions. Australian law restricts certain labels for advisers, so we describe ourselves as fee-based. Our real figures are on the Financial Services Guide: an initial Statement of Advice runs $3,300 to $6,600, ongoing advice starts at $1,650 a year, and hourly work is $550. You'll see the fee in writing before you commit.
Who do you help and where do you work?
We work with pre-retirees and retirees across south east Queensland, including the Brisbane south side, Logan, and the Gold Coast. Most of the people we see are within ten to fifteen years of retirement or already retired, and they want a clear plan for superannuation, retirement income, the Age Pension, and protecting what they've built. Our office is in Springwood, and we meet clients across the region.
What's your approach to giving financial advice?
We start by understanding your situation in full before recommending anything, because the advice has to suit you rather than a product. As an authorised representative of Akumin Financial Planning, we work under the best interests duty, so any recommendation has to put your interests first. George and Dan Hutchison both hold an AQF Level 8 Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning, and we keep advice in plain English so you understand every decision.
How do I start working with Great Advice?
Start with a free first meeting, no obligation, where we get to know your situation and you decide whether we're the right fit. You can book online or call 07 3290 0393. It helps to bring your recent super statements, any insurance policies, and a rough picture of your income and expenses. If you go ahead, we'll set out the scope and the fee in writing before any advice work begins.
